Danish-Chinese pianist Sine Winther is emerging as one of the most versatile, imaginative, and mature young pianists in Australia. Sine currently has a few spaces available for new students of all ages or abilities at her home studio in Armadale.
Sine began piano lessons with her parents, who were both international concert pianists. She graduated her BMUS (Hons) in Advanced Piano Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, where she received several university prizes. Her Honours research focused on approaches to teaching piano in groups at a university level, and has had six years of both private and studio teaching. Currently she is undertaking graduate studies at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM). In 2017 Sine made her UK debut, and she has also performed at Beleura House (Mornington, VIC), Emerging Artists Program at the Sydney International Piano Competition (NSW), the Gold Coast Performing Art Centre (QLD), as well as concertos with the Queensland Philharmonia Orchestra and the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra. Since 2013, Sine also curates her own solo and chamber concert series at the South Brisbane Old Town Hall. Aside from her performance aspirations, Sine is an active teacher who believes in the importance of sharing Classical music in the wider community, in order to inspire the next generation of musicians. Her teaching experience covers all ages and levels, and tailors lessons to suit student’s learning style, personality, and goals. She enjoys fostering a love for piano playing in her students, and always aims for them to hear music as a language. 2019 Piano tuition fees: 30 minutes - $40 45 minutes - $60 60 minutes - $80 Casual lessons may be offered dependent on availability. A travel fee of $10 applies for in-home lessons. Sine teaches piano from her home studio at 4/7 Wattletree Road, Armadale, VIC 3143. She teaches on a Schimmel baby grand piano and Yamaha upright.
