Matthew Stott, Piano Teacher
Matthew is a highly experienced musician and educator. He is passionate, positive and inspires students to explore and discover the wonderfully creative artform of music making. Teaching music has been his profession for thirteen years, during which he has gained a wealth of experience working with many different people of various ages and interests.
He has taught a broad range of repertoire, piano pedagogy, and guided many students on their journey to achieve their music examination levels in performance and theory.
Matthew specialises in developing musical skills, including rhythm and aural training, technique, chords and harmony, sight reading music notation, music theory, performance examination preparation and music appreciation. Matthew creates effective learning structures and lesson plans for students to achieve short and long term goals on their music learning journey.
In his senior years of secondary school Matthew placed second highest in the state for VCE/VET Music and was awarded a Premier’s Award. He was awarded a scholarship to study music at the Victorian College of the Arts, and continued to study piano and classical music at the Conservatorium of Music at the University of Melbourne. He has studied audio engineering and sound production at the JMC Academy. He holds an Associate Performer Diploma from ANZCA, Grade 8 AMEB Certificate, Bachelor of Music Performance (Piano) and a Bachelor of Creative Technology (Audio Engineering).
Matthew has extensive experience performing in original and cover bands and ensembles playing piano, keyboards and drum kit. When Matthew is not in the teaching studio, he can be found recording classical music concerts around Melbourne’s fine music venues. He also works in recording studios with musicians and artists, engineering recording sessions, mixing, mastering and producing original music.

$44 for 30 minutes
$60 for 45 minutes
$75 for 60 minutes
2019 In-Home Piano Tuition Fees with Matthew:
$50 for 30 minutes
$70 for 45 minutes
$90 for 60 minutes
Above fees are for weekly lessons paid in advance by the month or by the term. Casual lessons are available on a pay-as-you-go basis for an additional $5 per lesson. Fees include GST.
