George Baker-Holland is a professional pianist with interests in Jazz, Contemporary, Afro-Cuban, and Classical music. At his studio in Brunswick George teaches piano to students of all ages from beginner to very advanced. Driven by his passion for music education and the creative process, George ensures that each lesson is an enriching and enjoyable experience for his students. He tailors lessons to match the goals and aspirations of each student, focusing on technique refinement, music theory comprehension, sight-reading proficiency, and the art of improvisation. As well as teaching fundamental piano skills, George is also able to support students in their aural learning, guiding them to play by ear and identify chords, scales, and melodies. Drawing from over 15 years of dedicated practice and study George is passionate to share his expertise as both a musician and piano tutor. George studied Piano and Drums at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, a specialist high school that supports students who are dedicated to their craft at a young age. During this time George studied under the guidance of esteemed local pianist Steve Sedergreen and was introduced to the fundamentals of Jazz music as well as what the mentality of a Jazz pianist entails. In addition to Jazz music, George has always held a keen interest in other styles such as Blues, Hip-hop, Gospel and more. George continued his music studies at VCA where he studied both piano and composition with renowned Jazz pianist Barney McAll. In addition to piano lessons, George offers lessons in Composition, Music Theory, Drum Kit, Guitar and Songwriting. He is happy to work with beginners as well as support more advanced students prepare for their auditions, concerts, exams or competitions. Piano Tuition Fees with George Baker-Holland
$50 for 30 minutes $70 for 45 minutes $90 for 60 minutes Listed fees are for ongoing weekly lessons, paid in advance by the term. Casual lessons may be offered dependent on availability and fees are an additional $7.50 per lesson. |
