Jocelyn Lun, Pianist & Music Educator

Jocelyn Lun is a passionate and thoughtful piano teacher who brings both musical excellence and a genuine love of teaching to her work with students of all ages. She holds an Associate Diploma (ATCL) in Piano Performance from Trinity College London, a Distinction in ABRSM Grade 8 Piano, and a Merit in ABRSM Grade 8 Theory. Her commitment to high-level performance has been recognised with a Gold Award at the ABRSM High Scorer’s Festival and a Distinction in Yamaha Piano Grade 6.

Jocelyn’s teaching style is structured yet flexible, combining a strong foundation in technique, rhythm, and note-reading with an approach that is tailored to each student’s learning style and pace. She takes care to ensure that every lesson feels both purposeful and enjoyable, integrating practical skills with music theory from the very beginning.

For younger students, Jocelyn often incorporates creative games and engaging activities to make learning fun and memorable. For adults, she offers a calm and encouraging environment that supports personal growth—whether the goal is to revisit music after a break or to learn the piano for the very first time.

With experience teaching in individual, shared, and group settings, Jocelyn has worked extensively with primary-aged children and has also taught both teenagers and adults. She is skilled at building a strong rapport with her students, creating a safe and motivating space that encourages regular practice and meaningful progress.

Jocelyn welcomes beginner and intermediate students, and is confident preparing learners for AMEB and ABRSM exams up to Grade 5.

She teaches from a private studio in Carlton and may also be available for in-home lessons in the area on a case-by-case basis.
