Cristoph Tychsen-RicHards, Pianist & Music Educator

Cristoph Tychsen-Richards is a classically trained pianist with three years of teaching experience. He offers personalised piano lessons either in-home throughout the Brighton area or from his home studio in Gardenvale.

Cristoph began learning piano at the age of six and studied from 2010 - 2024 under the guidance of an internationally renowned concert pianist on the Sunshine Coast. Over the years, he has performed in numerous local concerts and developed a strong command of advanced classical repertoire. His formal qualifications include several certifications from the St Cecilia School of Music, notably an Associate Diploma in Pianoforte Performance (A.Dip.SCSM).

With a genuine passion for music education, Cristoph tailors each lesson to suit the individual needs and interests of his students, while also building a solid foundation in music theory. He believes students should not only be able to play a piece, but also understand its structure and the intentions of the composer.

Cristoph’s deep appreciation for classical music is at the heart of his teaching philosophy. He finds great joy in watching his students grow in confidence and musical expression, and sees the development of inner musicality as a key focus of his teaching.

In addition to his musical background, Cristoph holds degrees in law and economics and is currently completing his practical legal training to become an admitted solicitor.

Cristoph offers lessons at his studio at 58 Lantana Road, Gardenvale, as well as in-home lessons in Brighton, Elsternwick, Hampton, Ripponlea and Sandringham. Lessons at his studio are taught on a Casio Privia PX-850.
