Emily Su, Classical Pianist & Music Educator

Emily Su is an accomplished classical pianist offering in-home piano lessons throughout inner Melbourne including Carlton, Melbourne CBD, North Melbourne, Richmond, South Melbourne, Southbank and Docklands and surrounding suburbs.

Emily began her piano journey at the age of five and has since immersed herself in all aspects of the music world. In addition to piano, she studied violin and singing, actively participating in musical extracurricular activities throughout her education. Emily honed her skills by performing with orchestras and choirs, eventually discovering her true passion for chamber music, where she thrived in collaborative and competitive settings alongside her peers. 

Outside of classical training, she also competed in rock bands and played keys in a Jazz band. Leadership in music has been a key part of her growth as a musician, and she has served in various roles including Head of Music during her final year of high school. 

In 2020, after completing her ATCL Diploma, Emily began teaching piano and found it to be an exceptionally rewarding experience. She has since expanded her teaching repertoire to include group and individual music theory classes to enhance students' musicality.

Emily is passionate about supporting her students' aspirations and creating a fun and nurturing learning environment. Alongside creating a safe environment to learn and grow, she finds that establishing regular communication with parents/caregivers is very important in supporting her students' musical development.

Outside of her musical endeavours, Emily is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering at RMIT University. Originally from Taiwan, Emily moved to New Zealand at the age of two, and has recently relocated to Melbourne. She is excited to offer lessons here in Melbourne alongside her studies and is happy to teach piano in Chinese (Mandarin) or English.
