With over 14 years of classical piano experience and additional training as a cellist, Andrew Wu is a versatile musician and passionate educator. He is currently completing his Bachelor of Music at Monash University, where he continues to refine his performance and teaching practice.
Andrew's formative musical journey includes four years performing with the Melbourne Youth Orchestra and advanced study at the prestigious Eastman School of Music in the United States, through both an exchange program and a summer intensive. These experiences have shaped his broad musical perspective and deepened his commitment to artistic excellence. As a teacher, Andrew works with students of all ages and levels, tailoring lessons to each individual. His approach is grounded in the classical repertoire, with a strong emphasis on musical detail, expression, and personal growth. Students preparing for exams or aiming for advanced levels particularly benefit from his structured and disciplined teaching style. He sets high standards and clear goals, helping students develop a strong work ethic, refined technique, and an in-depth understanding of the music. Andrew is known for his focus on score analysis and interpretation, ensuring students engage deeply with the composition and appreciate its nuances. An accomplished performer, Andrew was awarded second place in the Chopin Solo Section at the Australian National Eisteddfod, a testament to his interpretive depth and pianistic skill. He continues to pursue opportunities to perform, teach, and collaborate—driven by a genuine passion for sharing the beauty and richness of classical music.
