Chenul Egodawaththa​, Pianist and Music Educator

Chenul Egodawaththa is a classically trained pianist with 13 years of experience offering piano lessons from his studio in Mount Waverley, as well as in-home lessons throughout Melbourne.
 
Chenul began learning piano at the age of five and has competed regularly in piano competitions and eisteddfods since he was nine. His achievements include second place in the Under 14 Piano Solo section at the 2020 Boroondara Eisteddfod and second place in the Under 10 Piano Solo section at the Southeastern Arts Festival. 

Under the guidance of Dr Kenji Fujimura, Chenul completed both his AMusA and LMusA piano diplomas in 2023 and 2024. From 2022 to 2025, he performed as an accompanist in his school’s annual music competition, receiving the Best Accompanist award in 2024. In 2025, he also performed as a soloist and received the award for Best Solo Performance.

In addition to piano, Chenul has studied alto saxophone for six years. He has performed in several school bands and ensembles and has participated regularly in events such as the Victorian School Music Festival (VSMF).

Chenul welcomes piano students of all ages and abilities. His lessons focus on building strong technique, musicality and confidence, with each session thoughtfully adapted to the student’s individual needs, interests and goals.
