Max Kielly (he/him) is a Naarm-based pianist and composer, studying at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (Bachelor of Music). His practice as a pianist focuses on the performance of new art music, collaborating with renowned Australian artists such as Stuart Greenbaum, David Kram, and Stephen McIntyre, also working as a music leader and collaborator in musical theatre and chamber music. His practice has been guided by some of Australia’s greatest pedagogues, including Robert Constable AM and Stephen McIntyre AM. Max is a passionate teacher, assessing what each student needs in order to technically improve, and then provide a specialised selection of exercises and repertoire that will improve the students technical and aural skills, also integrating pieces and skills the student is interested in. Max works as a contemporary concert composer, collaborating with many accomplished performers and ensembles both in Australia and internationally. He has recently been commissioned and performed by the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) the World Piano Teachers Australia (WPTA), The Melbourne Chamber Choir and Ensemble Liaison to name a few. His work spans solo, chamber and large ensemble music. Music Qualifications: Bachelor of Music (Composition), Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, 2024-2026 (in progress).
