Diwen Chen, Pianist & Music Educator

Diwen is a passionate piano and music theory teacher based in Ringwood. She began learning piano at the age of four, and her musical journey has since grown to include AMEB studies, VCE Music, and now tertiary education at Monash University, where she is completing a double degree in Secondary Education and Music.

With over three years of teaching experience, Diwen works with students of all ages, from young beginners to adult learners. She offers tailored lessons that focus on each student’s unique interests and learning style, ensuring that lessons are both engaging and meaningful. Diwen’s approach blends foundational technique and theory with creativity, encouraging students to explore music in ways that feel personally rewarding.

Skilled in preparing students for AMEB exams, school assessments, or simply for personal enjoyment, Diwen draws on a wide range of teaching materials and methods. Her goal is to support every student’s musical development while fostering confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of music.



Music Qualifications & Experience

  • AMEB Certificate of Performance in Piano (2021)
  • AMEB Grade 8 Piano (2020)
  • AMEB Grade 4 Theory – Distinction
  • AMEB Grade 5 Flute – Honours
  • Over 3 years of one-on-one and group teaching experience at private music schools and independently
  • Experienced with AMEB and VCE curriculum
  • Fluent in Mandarin

Ringwood Piano Tuition Fees

$50 for 30 minutes
$70 for 45 minutes
$90 for 60 minutes

Above fees are for weekly lessons by the school term. Casual lessons are available on a pay-as-you-go basis for an additional $5.50 per lesson.
