She provides a strong foundation in musical skills, including aural skills, sight-reading, theory, improvisation and composition.
Tirta encourages her students to write and perform their own compositions, and organizes regular concerts. AMEB exam preparation is offered to students if they choose. But most importantly, the emphasis is on fostering love and enjoyment of music and learning!
As a music therapist, Tirta believes passionately in the power of music and also the therapeutic relationship, to foster health and wellbeing. Her broad experience brings an open-mindedness and compassionate approach to her work.
In 2016-17 she undertook training with Keys of Life / Daphne Proietto, and qualified to teach piano to children with a diagnosed ASD. Currently she has several private students with an ASD, and also teach in this capacity at Eastern Ranges School, Ferntree Gully.
