Chris Law, Pianist & Music Educator
Chris Law is a classically trained pianist and accompanist offering in-home piano lessons in Melbourne CBD and the Inner North. He is highly experienced with AMEB curriculum, having achieved his Certificate of Performance (CoP) level in practical examinations, and Grade 4 in Musicianship.
In addition to his achievements with AMEB, he also studied Advanced Music throughout Year 11-12 (VCE Music 1-4 equivalent), during which time he received the school’s Music Scholarship award for that year. Chris has appeared at the Taylor Music Festival and Australian National Eisteddfod multiple times as a solo performer and as an accompanist. As well as being able to teach the basic fundamentals of piano, Chris is also available to help students with music theory, composition work, and improving their aural skills. He has a broad knowledge of different forms and aspects of music, and is happy to support students in the course of their AMEB or VCE studies. As a teacher, Chris’ ultimate goal is to instil in students a joy for learning, playing and appreciating music. He particularly enjoys working with first time learners, young and old, to help them develop their capacity for being musical in ways that will best suit their aspirations and goals for expression.
