A passionate pianist, accompanist, instrumental teacher and Italian tutor, Liam holds a Bachelor of Music (Performance) and a Diploma in Languages (Italian) from the University of Melbourne. He offers piano lessons from his home studio in Caulfield South.
Liam completed a Master of Teaching (Secondary) at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, specialising in Music and Italian pedagogy. His varied skills in communication and performing have led to his involvement with many music and cultural organisations across Australia and Europe. Liam trained as a trumpet player and répétiteur during his BMus at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, and continued his solo pianistic studies outside of the university with Alexandra Boemo. During this period Liam was the sole recipient of the Isobel Prowse Travelling Scholarship and also was awarded a Melbourne Global Scholars Award, which enabled him to undertake overseas study in Venice, Italy. Upon his return to Melbourne, Liam commenced training with internationally-renowned répétiteur and collaborative pianist, David Barnard and acclaimed accompanist and keyboard pedagogue Rhodri Clarke. In addition to working at various colleges and institutions across Melbourne, Liam is often engaged as a rehearsal pianist, accompanist and private instrumental teacher. In recent years, Liam has prepared repertoire for the AMusA, and LMusA Diplomas in piano with the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB). Currently Liam is preparing to undertake graduate research at the University of Melbourne for a PhD in Music Education and Music Psychology. His proposal aims to investigate and elucidate the links between additional language and music skill acquisition amongst multilingual instrumental students. Piano Tuition Fees: 30 minutes - $50 45 minutes - $70 60 minutes - $90 Above fees are for ongoing weekly lessons, paid in advance by the term. Casual and fortnightly lessons may be offered dependent on availability and fees are slightly higher. |
