Phuong Anh Tran is an accomplished pianist and multi-instrumentalist based in Melbourne's Inner West. She holds a Bachelor of Music (Classical Performance) and will complete her Master of Music (Performance Teaching) later this year.
Anh offers in-home piano lessons around Footscray – Maribyrnong and Melbourne's Western suburbs. Anh started learning piano at the age of 4, with a hope to overcome her shyness. After 3 years of lessons she fell in love with piano and steadily progressed, later achieving Grade 8 of Viet Nam Music Examination Board (equivalent to AMEB) at Ho Chi Minh Conservatory of Music. Determined to pursue a career in music, she then travelled to Sydney to undertake a Bachelor of Music (Classical Performance) under the guidance of Dr. Annie Wong (2019) and Dr. Wojciech Wisniewski (2020-2021). Through this journey, she realized that she could expand her musical proficiency to become both a performer and a teacher. She is now pursuing her Master’s degree in Performance Teaching under the guidance of Ms Elizabeth Mitchell at the University of Melbourne to further refine her skills as a music educator. Following her passion as a musician, Anh has also learned to play many other instruments in addition to piano, including guitar, bass, drums, violin, and ukulele. With her fluency as a multi-instrumentalist she was offered and joined music bands in Viet Nam and performed in Sydney as a pianist and vocalist. Through these diverse musical experiences Anh has had the opportunity to meet many influential musicians and artists that have inspired her musical journey. Moving to Australia in 2019, Anh has continued to develop her skills as a pianist and educator and has been teaching students at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. She enjoys working with special needs students and helping anyone with a desire to learn piano to achieve their musical goals, regardless of age or ability. Anh is passionate about sharing her love of music and believes that learning an instrument can bring much joy and enrichment to children and adults alike.
