Alex Dukas, Pianist / Music Educator / Producer
Alex Dukas is a jazz, pop and classical musician and music educator based in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. In 2014, he graduated with a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Biomedicine (Honours) from The University of Melbourne.
Since graduating, Alex has taught piano and voice to children and adults across jazz, pop and classical styles. He worked as a piano teacher in private and classroom settings across Melbourne before returning to his home town in the northern suburbs of Melbourne to open up a private studio in Lalor in 2019. In addition to teaching, Alex regularly performs as a pianist and singer, collaborating with Emerson Hurley to perform jazz and RnB standards and originals. He is a member of the Darebin Songwriters’ Guild, and performs originals at their monthly events. Alex regularly undertakes professional development through the Victorian Music Teachers’ Association (VMTA), and has held technique courses for aspiring music educators. As a Biomedicine graduate, Alex also holds an interest in special needs education and understanding students’ learning styles, and has undertaken professional development at the Listen and Learn Centre to further his skills in this area.
