Samuel Raison, Pianist, Composer & Music Educator

Samuel Raison is a pianist, composer, and working musician offering in-home piano lessons across Melbourne. After developing his musical practice in Brisbane, he relocated to Melbourne in early 2025, where he now pursues a multifaceted career in music.

Samuel began playing piano at age six and has explored Classical, Jazz, and Contemporary styles over the past 17 years. Excelling in Music Extension during Year 12, he initially pursued studies in Physiotherapy before ultimately following his passion for music. Since 2020, he has built a diverse career performing in bands, teaching, working as a session musician, and developing his own solo projects. In 2023, he earned a Diploma in Audio Engineering from JMC, further expanding his expertise in music production.

Sam stepped away from AMEB examinations after Grade 3, and had a choppy beginning to his own musicality. It took many years for him to find the right balance between technicality and creativity; consequently, Sam teaches with a compassionate and understanding approach that aims to cater to every individual’s unique learning style. Following naturally from his own background, Sam enjoys teaching composition, creativity, aural skills and improvisation as much as he likes to coalesce these with technique, expression, sight reading and music theory.

In-home Piano Lesson Tuition Fees

$55 for 30 minutes
$75 for 45 minutes
$95 for 60 minutes

Above fees are for ongoing weekly lessons, paid in advance by the term or calendar month. Casual lessons may be offered dependent on availability and fees are an additional $5.50 per lesson.
