Kasa Zhu is an accomplished classical pianist offering piano lessons at her studio in Carnegie as well as in-home piano lessons throughout Melbourne’s Southeast suburbs.
Commencing her music journey at the age of 5, Kasa was a keen student of piano who received numerous performance awards while being mentored by an esteemed piano teacher in China. In 2002 she was one of two out of 500 candidates to receive an excellence award in the Grade 10 Piano Examination with the Chinese Musicians Association. In 2003 she competed in the Richard Clayderman Cup held by Henan Cultural Affairs and was awarded a silver medal. Today she regularly performs in multicultural events and wedding functions as solo pianist or accompanist. Since moving to Australia in 2007 she has taught many students from the age of 5 years old to working adults. With an adaptable teaching approach, Kasa has successfully guided students with diverse learning needs to achieve their musical aspirations. Piano lessons with Kasa include both developing technical proficiency as well as supporting artistic freedom. Curriculum includes sight reading, music theory, technique training, learning repertoire of the student’s choice, and exploring free playing. She aims to support students to develop strong foundational skills in balance with developing their own unique relationship with music and self-expression. Alongside her passion for teaching piano, Kasa is currently studying music arrangement and composition at Berklee College of Music to further develop her musicianship. Kasa teaches piano on a Roland HP2 digital piano at her studio on Truganini Road, Carnegie, 3163. She also offers in-home piano lessons throughout Melbourne's Southeast.
