Andy Ma, Piano Teacher

Andy is a classically trained pianist and dedicated music educator based in Keilor East. With over 15 years of experience at the piano, he offers personalised lessons both in-home and from his home studio, helping students build strong technical foundations while developing a genuine connection to music.

Currently undertaking advanced studies at Monash University, Andy takes a structured yet flexible approach to teaching. Lessons are tailored to suit each student’s goals and interests, whether they’re learning for enjoyment or working towards AMEB exams. He focuses on building a well-rounded musical skillset from the beginning, incorporating technique, theory, and musical understanding in a practical and engaging way.

Andy teaches both Classical and Contemporary piano, drawing on a wide repertoire that includes composers such as Chopin, Liszt, and Beethoven, alongside modern arrangements. He places particular emphasis on healthy technique and efficient movement at the piano, helping students play with ease and confidence as they progress.

Alongside teaching, Andy has worked as a collaborative pianist in a variety of settings, including church services and musical theatre productions such as The Theory of Relativity. His experience across different musical contexts allows him to support students with a broad range of interests and performance goals.
