Melbourne Piano School offers piano lessons at our main studio in Hawthorn with three outstanding tertiary educated pianists and music educators. Lessons are taught on our beautiful Steinway M grand piano in a tranquil and light filled studio.
We are conveniently located in the SWell Centre at 2 Minona St, Hawthorn, close to Auburn Station and Swinburne University.

Brian Luo, Classical Pianist & Music Educator

Born in Adelaide, Brian Luo commenced piano lessons at the age of six, studying with esteemed pianist Professor David Lockett AM from age eight. After only two years of training he showed great enthusiasm for the piano and won numerous awards and prizes including a Single Studies Scholarship at the Elder Conservatorium from 2012 -
2015.
In 2015, Brian was awarded a full scholarship to attend the renowned Purcell School in London, where he studied under the guidance of Patsy Toh. During his time at Purcell, Brian continued to refine his skills and immersed himself in performance opportunities, including the opportunity to perform at Milton Court Concert Hall. He was awarded a scholarship from the British government to support his studies in the UK.
Now based in Melbourne, Brian offers piano lessons to students of all ages and abilities at Melbourne Piano School's Hawthorn studio. He is currently completing his Master of Music (Performance) degree at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music studying under the tutelage of Glenn Riddle.
Brian is a seasoned performer and enthusiastic piano teacher who is passionate about sharing his depth of knowledge of piano with his students.

What initially began as a part-time pursuit has evolved into a lifelong dedication in shaping the musical journeys of aspiring artists. With over two decades of enriching experience in music education and performance, I am proficient in delivering both group and one-on-one lessons.
Having started at the tender age of 5, my musical journey culminated into completing a Bachelor of Music (University of Auckland), a Licentiate of Trinity College of London (LTCL), and a Diploma in Music Production (Cardiff University).
My teaching philosophy revolves around a holistic approach, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application to establish a robust foundation for continuous and progressive growth in musical proficiency.
Beyond technical proficiency, I believe in the transformative power of music to connect individuals with their inner selves, fostering personal and professional development. Thus, I am committed to creating a nurturing and inspiring learning environment that empowers students to unleash their full potential in their musical endeavours, be it young budding musicians or adult learners.

Elizabeth Kefaloukos, Pianist & Music Educator
Elizabeth Kefaloukos is an aspiring concert pianist with a passion for music performance. She now offers piano lessons for students of all ages and abilities at the Melbourne Piano School studio in Hawthorn.
Beginning her musical education at the age of three, Elizabeth has been immersed in piano practice and performance for much of her life, and has been teaching piano for the past five years. She has experience preparing students for AMEB exams, local competitions and recitals, whilst undertaking a broader programme of repertoire and technical work extending beyond exam requirements. Currently completing her Bachelor of Music at The University of Melbourne majoring in piano performance, Elizabeth studies under esteemed piano pedagogue Glenn Riddle. She has previously studied and performed at the Sichuan Conservatorium of Music, and has placed in a number of Eisteddfods and competitions, including the Junior Chopin Competition at Royal South Street and the Australian Youth Classical Music Competition. Elizabeth has participated in various music festivals and performed in venues across Chengdu, Melbourne and in Geelong. Whilst thoroughly enjoying the music of Bach, Chopin and Rachmaninoff, Elizabeth also has a keen interest in contemporary music - including the works of Colin Brumby and Einojuhani Rautavaara. Away from the piano, Elizabeth enjoys competitive fencing, marathon racing and advocating for social justice and human rights. Marizabel Saliba - Pianist, Vocalist & Music Educator

Marizabel Saliba is a classically trained pianist and music educator currently completing her Bachelor of Music at Melbourne University. She offers piano and singing lessons to students of all ages at Melbourne Piano School’s Hawthorn studio.
Commencing her musical journey at the age of 6, Marizabel has cultivated her piano skills for 14 years and expanded into vocal training for the past seven. Her educational milestones in music include the successful completion of AMEB exams in piano and singing, VCE Vet Music (in collaboration with COLLARTS), and Certificate III in Musical Industry (Performance). Marizabel has immersed herself in music throughout her life and loves to share her passion, whether teaching, performing or songwriting.
In her spare time Marizabel enjoys singing and recording cover songs which she publishes on various music social media platforms. She also writes her own original pop songs which have been released on all digital streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal.
Marizabel is currently undertaking her Bachelor of Music at Melbourne University, studying under renowned pianist Kristian Chong. Majoring in classical piano performance, she is dedicated to refining her skills at piano and advancing her career as a professional pianist and educator.
Marizabel enjoys supporting piano students to prepare for AMEB exams, recitals, and performances. She adapts lessons to ensure they cater to each student’s level, ability, and learning preferences. She also enjoys working with vocal students supporting them with both solo singing or playing piano and singing. With a passion for teaching, Marizabel focuses on building positive and caring relationships with her students to empower them to achieve their goals and aspirations on their own unique musical journey.
