Alice Wang is an experienced and passionate music educator who offers piano lessons in Doncaster as well as in-home lessons throughout Melbourne. Alice began her music journey at the age of 4 when she started learning piano and accordion as leisure activities during kindergarten. She achieved ABRSM Grade 5 Theory and ABRSM Grade 8 Practical certifications in 2010 at the age of 15. Alice later joined her school’s symphonic band during 2011 to 2014, this time focusing on percussion. Arriving in Melbourne from Singapore in 2015, she had another opportunity to take musical exams as part of her Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) examinations, where she obtained a certificate as the top scorer of her cohort in the unit of music. Alice commenced work as a professional piano teacher in Melbourne in 2017 where she gained experience in teaching students ranging from the ages of 3 to 63 at a studio in Brunswick. During this time she mentored piano students doing leisure learning as well as those pursuing AMEB/ABRSM exams. From mid-2019 to mid-2021, she taught privately as an independent piano/drum teacher. Alice is comfortable to deliver lessons in English, Mandarin, and Shanghainese, which gives her the capabilities to teach a wide diversity of students. She is gifted with language and communication and has an ability to convey musical knowledge with both enthusiasm and technical accuracy. Alice’s teaching style is a fusion of the Suzuki method, the Alfred method, the Bastien piano method and the Faber & Faber piano method. Instead of having a fixed teaching style, she tailors her teaching plans according to the expectations, capabilities, and weekly schedules of her students. Alice believes in the power of music on personal expressions, personal growth, and how it shapes people into who they are. With an open-mind, she welcomes students of all backgrounds and beliefs, and is always ready to take on a new learning journey together with them. 30 minutes - $55 45 minutes - $75 60 minutes - $95 Listed fees are for ongoing weekly lessons, paid in advance by the term or by the month. Casual lessons may be offered dependent on availability and fees are an additional $5 per lesson. |
