Megan Tang, Pianist & Music Educator

Melbourne Conservatorium of Music student Megan Tang is an enthusiastic and engaging piano teacher and performer with over 14 years of classical piano training. She now offers piano lessons to students of all ages from her home studio in Doncaster. 

Originally from Hong Kong, Megan began learning piano at the age of four and has since developed a deep passion for music and teaching. She is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of young musicians through her warm, supportive, and engaging teaching style.

Megan believes strongly in building a solid foundation in piano technique, theory, and musicianship. She encourages students to develop healthy practice habits while exploring a wide range of composers and musical styles, helping them grow both technically and creatively.

Her qualifications include Distinction in both ATCL and LTCL diplomas from Trinity College London, along with three years of study at Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School. Megan has also received more than 50 piano awards across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Melbourne in solo piano, piano duet, and chamber music competitions.

Her major achievements include First Prize at the International Fringe Music Festival & Competition and the 10th HK Youth Barclampory Music Festival, as well as an Honourable Mention at the 2025 Boroondara Eisteddfod. In chamber music, she received First Prize in the Piano Duet category at the HK Music and Performing Arts Association Asia Pacific Outstanding Youth Piano Competition, and Second Prize for the MSV Chamber Music Award.

Alongside teaching, Megan is an active chamber musician, accompanist, and solo performer who enjoys collaborating with fellow musicians and sharing her love of music with students of all ages.

60 minutes - $90

​Listed fees are for ongoing weekly lessons, paid in advance by the term. Casual lessons may be offered dependent on availability and fees are an additional $5.50 per lesson.
