Sherilyn Lee is an experienced pianist with 2 years piano teaching experience. She is passionate about teaching and believes that everyone has the ability to learn music regardless of age or musical background. Sherilyn began her music journey at the age of 5 and has been a dedicated student of piano ever since. Under the tutelage of esteemed pianists Elizabeth Mitchell and Igor Machlak, Sherilyn graduated from Melbourne Conservatorium of Music with both Bachelor of Music (Performance), and Master of Music (Performance Teaching) degrees. Since then Sherilyn has taught piano at multiple music schools and is also a music research tutor at Melbourne University. In this role she is constantly exposed to new and upcoming teaching pedagogies. Additionally, she is currently undertaking a Master of Teaching at ACU to further develop her teaching skills. With an outgoing and cheerful personality, Sherilyn has a natural ability to connect with children easily and motivate them on their musical learning journey. Lessons with Sherilyn are never boring, as she loves to explore creative methods and integrate games into the lessons. They are conducted in a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Sherilyn believes in following a well-rounded approach to music teaching. As such, lessons with Sherilyn will include the development of a wide range of musical skills including technique, aural and rhythm skills, reading music, music theory, music appreciation and more. Sherilyn teaches piano to students of all ages and skill levels. Believing in a student-centred approach, lessons will be tailored to individual student needs and interests, whether for leisure or for exams. Qualifications Bachelor of Music (Performance) Master of Music (Performance Teaching) Both degrees were completed at Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (Melbourne University) ABRSM Grade 8 in Classical Piano Sherilyn teaches piano from her home studio in Keilor Downs VIC 3038. Her studio is complete with a Schumann Grand piano and a Yamaha U3M upright.
