|
Cameron O’Connor is a Melbourne-based pianist and music educator specialising in classical piano. He offers piano and music theory lessons to students aged six and above, either from his home studio in Brunswick and in select Melbourne suburbs.
Cameron studied piano for more than nine years before successfully auditioning for the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. There he studied Piano Performance under acclaimed concert pianist and educator Oleg Stepanov, achieving a Distinction before later pursuing other academic interests. He also holds a Certificate III in Music Industry (Performance) and received First Class Honours in ANZCA Grade 3 Theory. Alongside his formal training, Cameron has participated in numerous recitals, workshops and performance opportunities, and remains actively involved in choral singing. While classical piano is his primary area of expertise, he also enjoys supporting students who wish to explore contemporary repertoire. Cameron places a strong emphasis on developing sound technique, believing it provides the foundation for lasting musical growth and enjoyment. His lessons are guided by clear, achievable goals that help students build confidence and make consistent progress. He also has experience teaching neurodivergent students and thoughtfully adapts his approach to each student’s individual learning needs. Outside music, Cameron is undertaking a degree in Paramedicine and working towards his pilot licence. He believes that learning music nurtures discipline, perseverance, creativity and self-confidence, qualities that extend well beyond the piano. Above all, Cameron aims to foster curiosity and a genuine love of learning, helping each student find lasting satisfaction in their musical journey. Piano Tuition Fees with Cameron O'Connor
