Miles Brennan is a professional jazz, contemporary and electronic musician teaching all skill levels from complete beginners to experienced pianists from his studio in Brunswick.

With expertise in improvisation, composition, synthesis, production and live electronic performance, Miles has a holistically encompassing musical knowledge which he enjoys sharing with students to give them the best possible opportunity to develop and nurture a lifelong passion for music. 

With over seventeen years experience playing the keys and a wholehearted passion for inspiring musical and personal growth in others, Miles always strives to challenge his students and excels at nurturing the innate creativity which exists within each of us. As a teacher, Miles applies his vast and varied skillset individually as each student deserves their own personalised learning experience.

Development of exceptional keyboard technique, understanding scales, chords, melodies, music theory and reading sheet music are core foundations of the lessons. Students will practice exploratory improvisation exercises, learn to play by ear, and play with feeling and groove.  Alongside improvisation Miles also enjoys supporting students to learn sheet music pieces of all repertoire including contemporary, classical, jazz and popular genres.

In addition to piano lessons Miles offers electronic music lessons and Ableton Live sessions; sound-synthesis, sequencing, sound design, music production, live electronic performance.

Miles also enjoys supporting students to prepare for auditions, concerts, exams, or recording sessions.

Piano Tuition Fees with Miles:

$50 for 30 minutes
$70 for 45 minutes
$90 for 60 minutes

Above fees are for weekly lessons by the school term. Casual lessons are available on a pay-as-you-go basis for an additional $7.50 per lesson and can be booked online. Fees include GST.

Miles teaches piano and electronic music from his studio in the heart of Brunswick East. He teaches on a Nord Stage 3 Professional Keyboard as well an original Hammond organ.
Miles also offers in-home lessons in Coburg, Pascoe Vale, Brunswick, and Northcote.
