James Gales is an experienced and highly versatile pianist, music teacher and composer based in Melbourne’s Inner-North. James started learning piano at age 7 and has since kept up a continuous and diverse musical practice. He graduated with First Class Honours from the Melbourne Conservatorium under Professor Ian Holtham in 2016, granting experience with a range of classical and modern composers at an exceptionally high level of piano technique. As a music educator he has taught piano since 2015 at a range of primary schools and private studios. In addition to experience with the AMEB syllabus, James prides himself on his fluency with a wide range of styles, with experience as a jazz pianist and a composer of contemporary music, translating to an informed and holistic approach to piano teaching. James is available for piano lessons for any experience level, as well as composition lessons for composers of any level, using traditional music notation or contemporary music software (including Sibelius, Garageband, Logic Pro, and others). In-home piano tuition fees: 30 minutes - $50 45 minutes - $70 60 minutes - $90 Above fees are for weekly lessons paid by the term or month.
