​Mitchell Geddes is an experienced pianist, music teacher, accompanist, and composer offering piano lessons from his home studio in Ascot Vale.
 
Mitchell began his musical journey studying classical piano and completed his AMEB Grade 8 Certificate in 2016. He then commenced a Bachelor of Music at Monash University in the Classical Department under the mentorship of Aura Go. He has since has moved to study jazz piano with Monique DiMatinna, also at Monash University.
 
Mitchell currently engages in a wide variety of performance settings including jazz combos, big bands, wedding bands, and in other unique projects with his peers.
 
For all his students, he focusses equally on developing a strong technical facility, alongside development of musicality, creativity, exploration, and listening.
 
His teaching practice is informed by his years of musical training, personal research into musical pedagogy, as well as reflection upon his own music-making. In the lessons he also guides students towards developing planning skills such that they can make the most of their practice time that they have available. This is particularly useful for students studying VCE or mature-aged students working full time.
 
Mitchell is equally equipped to support students looking to complete AMEB Examinations and VCE Performance Units 1-4 (Classical and Contemporary). He is also certified to teach the Encore On Keys program for primary-school aged children.
