Gordon began playing classical piano at the age of 5, performing at various eisteddfod’s, recitals and examinations before exploring his interests in other styles of music. He graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2015 obtaining his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Music. During this time he had the opportunity to study under some of Australia’s finest musicians and composers as well as attend masterclasses from world class pianists such as Mike Nock, Steve Sedergreen, Andrea Keller and Joe Chindamo.
Since completing his formal music education, Gordon has performed extensively; locally, nationally and internationally. He has played at most of Melbourne’s premier live music venues - Uptown, Bennett’s, The Evelyn etc as well as various festivals including the Wangaratta Jazz Festival and Melbourne International Jazz Festival. Just recently he has returned from an international tour with the Australian International Opera Company, touring around Asia. As an educator, Gordon has been teaching since 2013 alongside with his studies. At the moment he teaches Guitar, Piano, Bass and Theory. He is invested in all his students’ progress and thoroughly enjoys sharing his knowledge with them. Gordon teaches piano at his home studio at 7 Dunbar Ave, Caulfield.
