Christy Wositzky-Jones is a pianist, music educator, composer and producer with extensive experience in teaching and live performance. Christy completed a Bachelor of Music from the Victorian College of the Arts where he majored in Jazz and Improvisation and received multiple awards including the Graham Coyle Award for excellence on piano. As well as 7+ years piano teaching experience, Christy’s professional music background includes performance, recording, production and composition. Christy has been performing with numerous bands and artists throughout Melbourne and Australia for the last 10 years, playing keyboards, piano, drums, guitar, synthesizers and electronics in a variety of genres. He is particularly passionate about traditional and contemporary jazz, soul music, electronic music, and diverse world music from Africa and Asia. Christy is a skilled improviser and a respected composer. Christy teaches beginner to advanced piano, as well as music and jazz theory, production and composition. He aims to make learning piano as fun and intriguing as possible, and has experience coaching students towards performances and AMEB exams. Christy varies his lessons to suit the students abilities, interests and goals, giving them the resources, knowledge and technique to achieve a great sound and repertoire on the piano. Qualifications Bachelor of Music, Victorian College of the Arts (Major in Jazz and Improvisation) Christy teaches piano from his home studio at 21 Helen St, Northcote, 3070. Studio instruments: Yamaha U3E upright piano and Nord Stage 2 professional keyboard.
