We are excited to be offering drop-in group vocal coaching classes in Melbourne at our studios in Fitzroy North. Suitable for beginners and intermediate singers, in these classes you will discover your voice as a powerful and unique instrument. It is an opportunity to enhance your self-awareness and increase self-esteem as you learn to sing, speak, and perform confidently to an audience. When you sing, musical vibrations move through you, altering your physical and emotional landscape. Group singing is an exhilarating and transformative experience. It takes something incredibly intimate, a sound that begins inside you, shares it with a roomful of people and it comes back as something even more electrifying: harmony! |

In group vocal coaching classes you will learn all the fundamentals of good singing practice including:
- how to breathe well
- support
- ensuring correct posture
- tone creation
- placement of sound
- vocal range
- blending between registers to eliminate vocal breaks
- building vocal endurance and control
In addition to building a foundation of solid technical skills we will also spend time focusing on:
- vocal phrasing
- articulation
- enunciation
- correct lyrics
- pitch
- dynamics (volume)
- rhythms
Technical skills, increased full-body awareness, attunement to other voices, and the interplay of group dynamics all come together in a unique alchemy that impacts us physically, emotionally and mentally. Even if you walked into the class exhausted and feeling depressed, by the end of the night, you’ll walk out feeling inspired and alive, having shared an uplifting experience with others who are also passionate about singing.
It’s not surprising that group singing is on the rise around the world. Singing is also proven to be one of the best stress reducers and helps with your overall health by exercising your lungs, toning up your muscles (especially the diaphragm), improving your posture, and releasing endorphins, the hormones of happiness.

About Darina
Darina is a passionate singer, choral conductor, pianist and music educator with 10 years teaching experience. She has a Master's in Choral Conducting and a Bachelor of Music from Bulgaria's National School of Music. While classically trained, Darina has experience performing and teaching across a range of genres including contemporary, jazz, and pop.
Darina has a life-long love of music and offers a fun and creative approach to learning singing. She works with children and adults, amateurs and professionals and is known for her holistic and supportive approach to music education.
